Opportunities
Our
Mission:
Individual growth, discovery of life, and renewal of
faith are at the heart of Incarnation Center, a ministry
of the Episcopal Church. We welcome all to our
conference, retreat, camp and nature center programs and
facilities, located in a beautiful environment, where people,
ideas, and spirit flourish.
Core
Purpose:
To provide a sacred, natural setting in which people
experience growth, discovery, and renewal.
Vision:
To be
nationally recognized as the premier Episcopal Center in
the northeast.
Gifting Choices
GENERAL FUND: It is
the financial goal of Incarnation Center to raise enough
revenue to cover its operating expenses and more.
However, variables occur when working with churches and
other volunteer agencies and they frequently cause
fluctuations in expected revenues. Although we try very
hard to control our stream of revenue and our expenses,
variables in seasonal programming and increases in fixed
operating costs have made it necessary at this time to
depend upon contributions to support the General
Operating Fund. General Fund contributions help us to
maintain sound financial leverage so that we can focus
on running quality programming and effectively care for
and train our excellent staff. They also assist in
providing revenue for purchasing equipment and replacing
worn furnishings. General Fund contributions are an
important element in helping the Center fulfill its
mission.
CAPITAL FUND: As Incarnation Center continues to
grow and serve our constituents, the Board of Directors
annually identifies major program facilities, structures
and equipment that either need to be replaced or
enhanced. Included in this list are vehicles such as
vans and maintenance trucks, furnishings, play fields
and the construction of new buildings. As operating
revenues do not cover the costs of capital projects,
Incarnation Center is dependent upon the generous gifts
offered by donors who care and want the Center to have
the finest facilities and services possible.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND: One objective of Incarnation
Center Summer Camp’s mission is to make the summer camp
available to any eligible child without financial
constraint. We know that camp makes an incredibly
positive
difference in the life of a young person. Our
program, which is based on helping children to develop a
spiritual life, establish personal values, and gain
self-esteem and respect for others and the environment,
has immeasurable value in today’s world.
Each
year, the Center must raise over $40,000 to meet the
need for camp scholarships. A scholarship grant covers
up to half of the cost of a child’s camp tuition.
Contributions to the Scholarship Fund will make it
possible for a child without the full financial
resources available to attend camp and truly benefit
from a life transforming experience. Each contribution
makes a donor a significant part of changing a child’s
life.
ENDOWMENT FUND: In the early 1980s, the Board of
Directors established the Incarnation Center Endowment
Fund from two bequests given to the Center. Since then,
additional gifts have been contributed and the Fund has
matured. However, to ensure the financial security of
the Center, the Board of Directors realizes that the
Fund must be increased. Careful attention is paid to
the management of the Fund by the Finance Committee of
the Board of Directors. Your contribution to the
Endowment Fund will serve to provide a strong financial
backbone to the Center’s future.
PLANNED GIVING:
Incarnation Center can provide assistance with Planned
Giving contributions. We would be very happy to review
with you various options for giving that would best fulfill
your desires and intentions. The following are some
options for consideration:
CHARITABLE REMAINDER TRUST: This is an option that
provides you, as the donor, with a charitable deduction. Your
gift is placed in a trust with Incarnation Center. The
portfolio continues to be managed by the donor, who is
allowed to take the interest out of the trust. The
income received by the donor is based on the donor’s
age. The donor is granted a tax deduction on the amount
of the investment. The term of the gift annuity is the
life of the donor. Upon the death of the donor, the
amount of the trust goes to Incarnation Center.
CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY: This is the best planned
giving opportunity for a gift of $5,000 to under $20,000.
It is designed for those who would like to support the
mission of Incarnation Center, but who would like to
receive income from their gift. A donation as low as
$5,000 may be made to Incarnation Center, who will invest the donation and give the donor an
invariable percentage of the donation. The donor is
allowed a charitable deduction based upon the fair
market value of the gift.
CHARITABLE LEAD TRUST: This allows you to give
your asset to Incarnation Center as “rent” while
designating that asset for your children or
grandchildren. In this way, Incarnation Center receives
the interest income. The family then receives the corpus
of the trust. The IRS grants the donor a reduction in
the gift tax.
BEQUESTS: The history of Incarnation Center
demonstrates that our work and benefits extend well
beyond a lifetime. Therefore, there is no better way to
ensure that future generations are going to profit from
the values and services of our outstanding programs
and ministries than to include the Center in your will.
We will continue to be here - doing the work of the
witness of the Church, caring for our environment, and
helping people both young and old, experience growth,
discovery and renewal. Including the Center in your will
allows you the opportunity of reaching into the future
and making a difference in people’s lives.
STRATEGIC PLAN
The
Board of Directors has approved a three-year Strategic Plan.
The Plan calls for major program and facility
enhancements as well as for an overall site review and
Master Plan.
